Laminate Care & Maintenance

Dry Cleaning

• Sweep with a soft-bristle broom
• Vacuum on hard floor setting (no beater bar)
• Dust mop with a dry microfiber pad

Light Cleaning

• Damp microfiber mop — NOT wet, just lightly damp
• Wring the mop thoroughly before use
• Dry the floor immediately if excess moisture remains

• Wipe spills immediately — do not allow standing water
• Never flood or soak the floor during cleaning
• Use only a damp (not wet) mop
• Dry any excess moisture right away

• Do not pour water or cleaning solution directly on the floor
• Do not use a steam mop — heat and moisture damage laminate
• Do not allow liquids to sit at plank joints

• Use cleaners specifically designed for laminate floors
• Spray cleaner on the mop pad, not directly on the floor

• Steam mops — damage the surface and joints
• Abrasive cleaners or scouring pads
• Wax, polish, or buffing compounds
• Ammonia-based or bleach-based cleaners
• Oil soap or any product designed for hardwood

• Apply felt pads to all furniture legs — replace when worn
• Lift furniture when moving — never slide or drag
• Avoid furniture with sharp metal legs or feet
• Use wide, flat glides for heavy furniture
• Avoid point loads — distribute weight with pads

• Keep pet nails trimmed to prevent scratches
• Clean pet accidents immediately — urine is acidic and can stain
• Place mats under water and food bowls
• Use area rugs in areas where pets frequently rest or play

• Use curtains or blinds in high-sun areas if desired
• Rotate rugs periodically for even exposure
